Helena Estrela’s films contain words addressed to a recipient who could be a friend, an anonymous viewer, the sun or herself. Her images become letters, and the letters fill with greenish tones, dark blue and cadmium red. From this gesture a correspondence emerges with Mariana Torres, who responds to one of Helena’s pieces with a performative projection.
